By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau \/ Moldova.ORG\/ — Temple in Jerusalem hides many mysteries and historical artifacts that await archaeologists to discover them, but the access in the Temple is forbidden for any kind of archaeological research, because it is considered holy place both by the Muslim population and the Mosaic religion.<\/p>\n

With all these prohibitions, archaeologists make discoveries near the temple, in nearby sites.<\/p>\n

An Israeli team of archaeologists discovered a rare clay signet, which seems to have been used in religious rituals that took place in the Temple of Herod (the second temple of Jerusalem) 2,000 years ago.<\/p>\n

The signet was discovered near the Western Wall, in the Old City of Jerusalem, and has a size of a coin. On the signet there are two words in Aramaic, which mean "Purely for God".<\/p>\n

Archaeologist Ronny Reich from the University of Haifa said that it is the only signet of this type that was discovered until today, representing a unique artifact that offers clues about what religious practices were practiced in the past in the temple.<\/p>\n

Reich said that the signet has been used, most probably, in religious celebrations. It was applied to the objects that had to be used in religious rituals, identifying them as "pure". The expert concluded that the signet may date since the year 1 BC until 70 AD, when Roman soldiers destroyed the Temple.<\/p>\n

The Temple in Jerusalem was demolished twice: firstly during the tomes of Nebuchadnezzar and secondly in the times of Titus. Its name is Beit Hamiclas and for its rebuilding, religious Jews prayed every day.<\/p>\n

Impressive is how they went into mourning for pulling down. They did it and wasted even in old days when Jerusalem was closed and banned, the only day that they could have entered its gates to cry the demolished temple. They did it on an foreign land, wherever they lived, because they kept alive the pain.<\/p>\n
