Discovery of very old slabs, dating since 5000 years ago and others since 2,500 years ago have lighted the case concerning to the construction of the Tower of Babel, considered a legend.<\/p>\n

Several Ancient Babylonian texts reveal interesting details about the life of the Middle East, in biblical times. They are written with an alphabet consisting of 107 cuneiform signs and written on slabs, which are a part of the personal collection of Norwegian businessman Martin Schoyen.<\/p>\n

The writing – which the owner made recently available to scientists to be translated – refers to the war facts, explains the technique of construction of the pyramidal edifice and describes the habits of the locals.<\/p>\n

The most interesting passage of the text is a passage from a speech of King Nebuchadnezzar II the ruler of Babylon, who, now 2,500 years ago, has built a giant pyramidal edifice in Ancient Mesopotamia, dedicated to the God Marduk.
\nMany scientists argue that the imposing pyramid built by Nebuchadnezzar II inspired the biblical passage about the Tower of Babel. In ancient texts, the king tells how he gathered people around the world to build a tower dedicated to Marduk and another less large in the city Borsippa.<\/p>\n

"We gathered people from the countries from everywhere; I appealed to all the kings who were rulers over the world nations protected by Marduk. Firstly, we built the tower structure with brick and bitumen, and when we finished, it was shining as the Sun in the sky", show the inscription on stone tables, translated by Andrew George, Professor at the University of London, United Kingdom.
