The beginnings of this Court have been placed in the time between 1386-1418, when on this place was built a fortress by Mircea the Elder&#8217;s command.<\/p>\n<p>In the 15th century, Vlad Tepes, the Prince of Wallachia, reinforced the fortress built by Mircea the Elder and raised it to the rank of a princely residence, parallel to the one at T&acirc;rgovi\u015fte.<\/p>\n<p>The first reliable data about the existence of this city we have from the documents since the time of Radu the Beautiful, through which he moved the princely seat from T&acirc;rgovi\u015fte to Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p>The current Old Courtyard suffered historically important changes and restorations, which began in the second half of XV century, in the times of the reign of Vlad Tepes. In the old city there were preserved a few ruins (underground caves, tower bases, columns, towers, steps, chambers), which they believed was destroyed by archaeologists.<br \/>\nThe entire Princely Court was formed by a Palace-the Palace of Voievod, a church-the Church of the Annunciation, known later under the name Church of Old Courtyard, houses with reception salons, princely offices, stalls and gardens.<\/p>\n<p>Today Old Courtyard is a complex of ruins and fortifications, medieval foundations and rooms located between Victoria&#8217;s Path and street of Markets.<\/p>\n<p>Last years have been beneficial for this historical monument of national importance, being rebuilt and refurbished to be able to enter in the list of tourist places of Bucharest.
