The highest peaks of Europe are as different as they are the Nations living in this part of the blue planet, each of them possessing a special personality, height and character.<\/p>\n

We start, as it was expected, with the highest of the roofs, namely the peak Elbrus of the Caucasus Mountains. It has a height of 5642 m, but is considered only by some geographers as being the highest, because it is just at the border between Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n

Elbrus has a riotous story, being an extinct volcano. The last eruption took place 2000 years ago and it seems there won’t be another. It consists of two peaks, one Eastern and another Western, and the Easter peak is the highest. Up to a height of 3800 meters you can climb by cable car. From here climb requires special equipment and time for accommodation at altitude.<\/p>\n

The second peak of Europe, according to some specialists, and the first, as others say, is Mont Blanc from the Alps. If the Elbrus is at the border between the two parts of the continent of Eurasia, then Mont Blanc separates the two countries, France and Italy. It has a height of 4810 meters, which vary with some meters, depending on the snow falls. The escalation is quite easy for those involved and trained with the necessary things.<\/p>\n

Another mountain range of Europe is the massif Pyrenees and its peak that soars over the other, Pic d’Aneto, which has a height of 3404 metres. If from the Mountain Elbrus you can see the Eastern Europe, from the Mont Blanc – the Central and Western part, then from the Aneto there opens the panorama of South-Western part of Europe. And if we say the South, it’s clear that we can no longer find those glaciers that persist both in summer and in winter. On the top of Aneto, in summer snow is present intermittently and we have an image of a peak of stone in all its splendor.<\/p>\n

From side of Italy, Europe is warmer regarded on the peak of the range on the Apennines present on Apennine Peninsula, Corno Grande, with a height of 2912 metres. The top is composed of three peaks, of which the Western is the highest. This peak is considered the most southern glacier in Europe. Escalations can be done on the two routes, one for the newbies, more accessible and another very difficult for those who are involved.<\/p>\n

Greece can be proud that it has one of the highest peaks in Europe, but also one of the most famous, Olympus with the peak Myticas (Nose), which has a height of 2.919 metres. It is located on the seafront, and is therefore from a topometric point of view (the relative difference between peak and mountain feet) is one of the highest peaks.<\/p>\n
