But does this tradition have scientific basis or it’s just what one wants to be and nothing else?

One of the arguments made on demonstrating the christianizing of the Dacians by Saint Andrew is the one relating to the presence of the Apostle Andrew in preserver hermits’ memory from Râmeţi, recorded by one of the most prominent confessors of this monastery, the dear departed father Gelasius from Râmeţi. He, in his book "The Ancestor of Carpathians", talks about the hermit Neophyte, who recounts some memoirs of the hermit monks, who have been transmitted in oral form from hermit to hermit, what talk about the time of the turning of the Dacians into Christianity. Father Gelasius talks about Râmeţi monastery as the place where he was the last descendant of Zamolxis that was sentenced to death for the fact that he had received Christianity from Saint Andrew itself: "The priest-mag says the people that he had not defected, but that he had "fulfilled the faith in a such expected way". "The Apostle of Christ, Andrew, was really here and brought us the image of Christ, in front of whose face I, the image of Zamolxis, knelt and stripped "wizard’s clothes" and got new clothes of a priest of Christ".

Another argument would be the presence of the Saint Apostle Andrew in popular traditions and customs of the inhabitants of Romanian territory, which are kept unchanged for over two millennia. One of the most interesting habits related to St Andrew’s night is the guarding of garlic, which is still practiced in some localities of Galaţi County. This tradition in fact reedits the scene of vigil of Savior Christ. In the night of Saint Andrew, at the Nămoloasa, in the County named the same, the hostess put in a bowl on the table 30 pieces of garlic. Thirty pieces of garlic – as a symbol of the pains of Jesus – allusion to the 30 silver coins that Judas Iscariot had sold the Savior for. All these habits link very closely the St. Andrew’s name of that of Jesus Christ and of the Romanian customs, which demonstrates that our ancestors firstly heard the word of the God from Saint Andrew.

A discovery made at Brad by archaeologist Vasile Ursache, induce the idea of christianizing of Dacians early in the first century AD. It is said about a cover made with hand-painted ceramic technique, preserved in fragmentary condition, with a decorative fish as the main motif. The lid has, as specialists say, usual dimensions: diameter of 25 cm, height of about 12 cm. The image of the fish is partially preserved and has 6.3 cm length and 2 cm width. He has marked the right eye, scales and the six fins, four of which on one side and two on the other. Professor Vasile Ursachi thinks that the drawing was represented on the object of at least four times. A graphic reconstitution of the cover features the four images of fish on the lid, the imaginary trajectory of a cross. This discovery is the more original as the fish, as a symbol or a sign, is not present in the classic period of the Dacian culture.

The Apostle’s travels through the cities of the Danube were mentioned by the doctor in theology Ion Dinu, which, in the "Life and Activity of the Saint Apostle Andrew", since 1945, stated: "But the Chersonits and the fortress of Olbii, from the mouth of the Dniester River and over the Azov Sea expected him and enjoyed by the news that the Apostle will come up and at them with teaching and with baptism. Therefore, he and his companions left the fortress of Silistra and turned to Danube fortress Axiopolis, which is now is named Cernavoda, going through the string of forts to Noviodunum, which today is called Isaccea, where he passed the water of the Danube". A confession, confirming the statement in this regard, comes directly from the Vatican. Papa Pius II himself, referring to the fact that three decades after the death of the latin poet Ovid, on the half of the 1st century AD, says that Saint Andrew arrived on the banks of the Danube, and have been met by a huge crowd "fired with his words".

All these arguments would prove that the Saint Apostle Andrew was the person who christianized our ancestors.
