Seventeen giant trees grow on the roof with a width&nbsp;of 17 cm of a small church.<\/p>\n<p>This happens on the roof of the St. Theodora from Peloponnese Church, located in the village Vast, in the region Peloponnese, in Greece.<\/p>\n<p>It is one of the most visited and famous churches on the whole Greek territories, although it is a small church. The fame of this place of worship was brought by the trees that grow on the walls and on the roof. The great miracle resides in the fact that the church was not damaged by the roots of these trees and lasted for centuries.<\/p>\n<p>The legend of this place says that Saint Theodora from Peloponnese lived on these lands in XI century.<br \/>\nWhen the region was attacked by foreigners, Saint Theodora was forced to defend with all her forces the village, but as she was just a woman, she couldn&rsquo;t do so much. In order not to be dismissed from the army, Theodora disguised herself in a soldier and joined the ranks of fighters.<\/p>\n<p>She didn&rsquo;t survive and died on the battle field. It is said that when she lied down on the ground, she would have whispered the words: &ldquo;May the body to become a church, my blood to become a river and my hair to become a forest of trees.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The residents of the village Vast, impressed of her heroism and sad because of her loss, built a church on the place where took place the battle.<\/p>\n<p>The little stone church was built by locals between X-XII centuries. A river from this area changed its flow, passing beneath the foundation of the church built by them. Later, the trees began to grow on the roof, but their roots were not seen nor inside the church, nor under the ceiling, nor on the other sides of the building. Hundreds of years passed, but the roots are still not visible.<\/p>\n<p>The phenomenon of the church with trees had been studied by specialists who said that it is a miracle that evolves for centuries. Makrigiannis, a geologist, says: &ldquo;Seventeen giants supported on nothing. All these huge trees are rooted on nothing, or better said, on the roof of a few centimeters thick! The biggest surprise waits us inside. There is not even a little root on the old walls.<\/p>\n<p>No cracks due to them! When there blows the wind through a tree, its roots form some levers so powerful, that the little settlement should demolish immediately.
