The year 2011 is a one that was remarked by some museum complexes that were sought and visited a lot.<br \/>\nAmong the museums that received the greatest number of tourists in 2011 there are Bran Castle, Museum Complex Astra from Sibiu, the National Museum Peles and the Museum Brukenthal from Sibiu.<\/p>\n<p>The most visited touristic place was Bran Castle from the locality with the same name, in Brasov County, which received with open doors and soul about 430.000 visitors in the period 1.01.2011 &ndash; 31.08.2011 and to the end of the year this number increasing to more than 550.000 tourists. The share of Romanian tourists remains to be high, totaling about 61% comparing with the 39% of foreigners. &ldquo;Last year, Bran Castle had 517.000 visitors, but this year the estimates are that the number will increase by about 8% more than in 2010. There were months when the number of tourist increased by 18%, but in the first eight months its average growth was 8.6%&rdquo;, said Alexander Priscu, director of the Bran Castle for Mediafax.<\/p>\n<p>The increasing number of visitors to Bran Castle was a result of the high number of events organized comparing to the last year.<\/p>\n<p>The second touristic objective highly visited in Romania this year was the National Museum Complex Astra in Sibiu.
