It is a mysterious, lonely stone that with its shape and placing raises people&rsquo;s imagination.<\/p>\n<p>The most common myths tell that the Devil is that who dropped the rock, which was broken from the massif Ceahlau. Another legend speaks about an ogre who lived on Ceahlau and in a fight with locals he would had broken a piece of the mountain that he would had wanted to throw over the villagers, but the good spirit of the Ceahlau prevented this, cutting ogre&rsquo;s hands with a sword, so the stone fell out of the village.<\/p>\n<p>Locals think about this stone that it would be accursed, because over the years lots of people were thrown or fell from its height. As proof, there are iron crosses on the top and around the rock.<\/p>\n<p>The most time of the year, it is surrounded by the lake waters. At a more detailed analysis of the composition of rock, it was discovered that its composition is enriched with a Sarmatian fossil fauna.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, the rock was called Devil&rsquo;s Rock, nowadays name being given due the fact that on the top has risen a linden tree. Linden Rock was declared a natural monument in 1951.
