By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau \/ Moldova.ORG\/ — Constantin Brancusi had immortalized his name through his exceptional works, and he left in the town Targu-Jiu some of the treasure of sculpture, in such a way including it in the list of the most requested Romanian towns by the tourists.<\/p>\n

Since 1938, the Central Park of Targu-Jiu owns one of the most well-known artworks of Constantin Brancusi and the only exposed outdoors.<\/p>\n

The sculptural ensemble from Targu-Jiu represents an homage to the Romanian soldiers who died in the Second World War.<\/p>\n

The Table of Silence is a table where the soldiers sat before they went to the battle. It is a place of silence and meditation about the life meaning. The round shape of the chairs and of the table is a symbol of infinite line, without corners and endings. The table and the twelve chairs are made of limestone.<\/p>\n

The motif of time, present in all the works of Brancusi, is represented by the chairs of clepsydra shape, arranged around the table. Viewed from above, it is like a clock of silence, because the time is running quietly.<\/p>\n

The Gate of Kiss is the Temple of Kiss, a Kingdom of Man who finds his Woman. A gate without entry and exit, but which is however an entry on the Land of Love – a symbol of eternity and the ephemeral people who pass its threshold (of the Love door), become eternal through the feeling that they cherish.<\/p>\n

From the Gate of Kiss there is a an great large alley that passes for all that are passionate of this pure feeling and of the sacred connection between man and woman, and two narrow roads at the left and right side for those who are wandering in life.<\/p>\n

The Endless Column – another sacred sculpture dedicated specially to time, became the cultural card of the town and of the master, too. With a height of 29.33 m, it consists of 17 rhomboidal iron modules, arranged on a steel spindle.<\/p>\n

A defining feature of the works of Brancusi is that they are a wellspring of thoughts, meditations and interpretations, that they were created specially to arouse the thoughts deep hidden in the human soul.<\/p>\n

Go to admire the Endless Column, to keep silence at the Table of Silence and meditate under the Arch of Kiss from Targu-Jiu.<\/p>\n
