Such a location is the Spa Resort “Herculian Thermae”.<\/p>\n

Located in the heart of the mountains, in Caracas-Severin, in Romania, the Spa “Herculian Thermae” is one of the oldest resorts in the world. Dating since 102 AD, under the Emperor Trajan, the spa baths of about two millennia continue to treat the people.<\/p>\n

The Romans introduced and developed in this territory the spa culture, taken from Greeks. Impressed by the exceptional healing power of the waters from Dacia, during the Roman civilization lived there, the spa resort from the Cerna Valley was a place of attraction for Roman aristocracy. Considered “a gift from Gods”, the thermal and mineral waters of the resort were raised to the sacred and divinized rank under the Hercules’s founding.<\/p>\n

From the Roman times there remained a lot of vestiges: baths, aqueducts, statues, coins etc. The modern period begins in 1736, when the spa resort was modernized and rebuilt. <\/p>\n

The thermal and mineral springs, the climate with a Mediterranean influence, the air enriched with negative ions that are benefic for human organism – all these elements are framed in a landscape of mountains shade of forests made the fame of the spa resort to go far abroad. Now in the area are known about 16 thermal springs, which have a high mineral content: chlorine, bromine, iodine, sulfur and have temperatures between 38oC and 62oC.<\/p>\n

Herculian Thermae treats the following disorders: degenerative rheumatism, spondylosis, arthritis, wrist rheumatism, paresis, paralysis, diabetes, respiratory, cardiovascular, gynecological and dermatological diseases, ENT, eye disorders.<\/p>\n

A variety of recreation ways, restaurants, bars, summer terraces, pools with thermal water and opportunities for hiking, tours – all these expect you at the spa resort “Herculian Thermae”.<\/p>\n
