By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau \/ Moldova.ORG\/ — Fagaras Mountains are ones that offer incredibly beautiful scenery. Once arrived here, you will not want to leave and a holiday spent among the peaks, lakes and landscapes of this mountain range will become a habit you couldn’t give up.<\/p>\n

The lake Balea is a glacial lake, formed in a glacial circle at an altitude of 2040 m. The lake, which has an area of 45000 square meters and a depth of 11.35 m, is one of the most beautiful and largest in the range of Carpathian Mountains.<\/p>\n

The nature always created and continues to create landscapes that impressed, surprised and amazed, and this fact can be seen here, on the quiet bank of the lake Balea, from Fagaras Mountains. Stone cliffs of the mountain protect from all the sides of the calm and sinless waters of the lake. Lying on the grass, on the bank of the lake, you can feel the peace that takes in possession your soul and the energy of the mountains begin to flow in your veins, uplifting your blood.<\/p>\n

In 1932, Balea Lake and its surroundings were included in the natural reservation created here, to protect the mountain fauna and flora from the banks of the lake.<\/p>\n

On the middle of the peninsula of the mountain lake raises a pretty cottage, built specially to accommodate the tourists that come to visit the surroundings. The chalet was built in 1905, but in 1995 a fire destroyed the hut to the ground. Five years later, it was started the construction of the other house on the old place, and today it is one of the most requested chalets from Fagaras Mountains.<\/p>\n

At a lower altitude than lake, it can be seen the Balea Waterfall (1234 m), where the water falls from a height of 60 m.
\nIn the summer, the way to the lake Balea can be crossed by car on the Transfagarasan Road, which is one of the most beautiful roads in Romania.<\/p>\n

A journey to Fagaras Mountains offers wonderful and overwhelming landscapes. Don’t hesitate to take a holiday in this mountain range.<\/p>\n

The distance from Chisinau to the lake Balea is 542 km.
