By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau \/ Moldova.ORG\/ — The disappearance of a cherished person often destroys and changes destinies of those who are alive. That happened to Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu, whose fate was radically changed since the death of his only child – Julia.<\/p>\n

The castles are places where you return, even briefly, in the past and relive some moments of the history of our nation. Perhaps in such a way felt B. P. Hasdeu, the great scientist with an encyclopedic mind, when he decided to build a castle in the memory of his daughter.<\/p>\n

In the Campina town, at a distance of 97 km from Bucharest, between 1893-1897, Hasdeu built a castle dedicated to his daughter, Julia Hasdeu, who died at an early age of 19 years.<\/p>\n

After the castle had been finished, the scholar retreats to Campina and tries to connect with his daughter’s soul through spiritism sessions. Hasdeu is known as the first practitioner of spiritualism in Romania. His whole life after the death of Julia, the scientist dedicated to daily meetings with her spirit. In the castle it is a room with black walls, specially dedicated to spiritualism.<\/p>\n

The castle was built after the projects that Julia had passed through her father. The manuscripts and works of B. P. Hasdeu about spiritualism were dictated, according to their author, by his daughter.<\/p>\n

The castle is haunted by myths and legends which say that Julia plays the piano every night and walks around the castle and in the courtyard in a white dress with daisy flowers in the hand. <\/p>\n

Nowadays, the castle is open for tourists, being transformed into a museum. In the museum you can see objects which were used by Julia and a lot of paintings that represent her. Designed as a temple dedicated to Julia, everything in the castle remind about the girl. In the office of the scientist there is a strange hole in the wall where entered in the castle and in the room Julia’s soul.<\/p>\n

Souls of the father and of the daughter found one another, I suppose, enjoying the peace in the afterlife, but people of this world can admire the beauty of the castle from Campina – a proof of paternal love.<\/p>\n

The distance from Chisinau to Campina is about 440 km.
