Then I invite you in Maramures, the land of wild forests, which are crossed only by Mocanita. You could ask who is this Mocanita? Well, Mocanita is a vintage steam train, which was used to transport wood, but in last years it is used to bring tourists, so it returned to its primary purpose.<\/p>\n

Vaser Valley, the homeland of Mocanita, is one of the wildest and one of the most splendid landscapes from Romania. The journey starts from Viseu of the Top, on a distance of 21 km, until Platini, where you can see tight zones of the gorge, lisping valleys lisping overlaid with rocks, colors of the forest and three tunnels. Vaser Valley is like a canyon with steep cliffs alternated with dense forests, wonderful meadows and cool springs.<\/p>\n

Early morning, the train is ready for a travel and waits for passengers. The travel with Mocanita is really a trip through time. Once budged, you forget about the modernity and everything is related to this word, including mobile phone that has no signal. The fragrance of wood logs, the long sound of the running locomotive, the loud purl of the river Vaser and the rustle of the forest beams you decades ago.<\/p>\n

The trip is long, with a lot of stops, the train leaves up empty wagons to take them crammed full with logs when it returns. The train may stop for locals to pick up or to supply with water. It may jump from the rails, but this is not dangerous at a speed of 10 km\/h, and being put back on track, it continues the trip between the trees.<\/p>\n

A trip in the Vaser Valley, a day-long one, with the train or a longer one, hiking with a camping, is an amazing adventure. In the middle of dark forests or in the meadows invaded of sun, a fascinating world is opening, a different one. Visit it and you will surely love it.<\/p>\n

The distance from Chisinau to the Viseu of the Top is 458 km.
