Who are these giants? They are not more than splendid nature&rsquo;s creations, called by people Cauldrons.<\/p>\n<p>Cauldrons are an area of about 9 km (Great Cauldrons &ndash; 5km, Small Cauldrons &ndash; 4 km) in the Danube Gorge, where The Carpathian Mountains meet with the Balkans.<\/p>\n<p>It is a delightful region, where the history blends with modernity, the divine with human, the eternal with changes, a place where reign silence and melancholy. <\/p>\n<p>At the exit of Small Cauldrons was kept a monument dating from the time of Emperor Trajan. &ldquo;Tabula Traiana&rdquo; is a board written by the Trajan himself, when he was in the triumphal roman troop march to Dacia. It is located on the Serbian side of the Danube bank, but there can be discerned two dolphins and an eagle, at a distance of 250 m allowed from a boat to the Serbian bank.<\/p>\n<p>As a reply to &ldquo;Tabula Traiana&rdquo;, at the entry of Small Cauldrons King Decebal, curved in rock, watches over the flow line of Danube. It is the largest stone sculpture in Europe, with a height of 55 m and width of 25 m. It is with 6 m smaller than the Statue of Liberty, 8 m higher than the Statue of Jesus Christ from Rio de Janeiro and about 10 m higher than the legendary Colossus of Rhodes. <\/p>\n<p>A sail on Danube may also discover you a cave &ndash; Ponicova &ndash; where you can enter, if water level is enough high.<br \/>\nDanube has another guard, on the Romanian bank, Mraconia Monastery, which is dating since XVI century, but it was flooded when was built the barrage from Iron Gates, then it was rebuilt in 1995, after its old model.
