By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau\/ Moldova.ORG\/ — If you want to see the pyramids, but you don’t have enough money to go to Egypt, then I invite you to Ramnicu, in Romania, to visit some pyramids created by nature.
\nSoil pyramids from Goranu represent a particularly spectacular geological reservation with an area of 12 ha, located near the Ramnicu Valcea, on the river Stancioi’s bank. <\/p>\n

Pyramids from Goranu, also named “gargoils”, are located in a place, which is not too accessible. If you ask the locals how to go there, they will not explain it, because most of them don’t know about the existence of pyramids. A third of the way that leads to the gargoyle is a country road, then it twice crosses the brook Stancioi, and the other two thirds of the way cross through local gardens and a shady park.<\/p>\n

Once arrived, you can wonder of the Mother Nature’s creation, of how the weather mood turns into tools that shape the rock like a genuine sculptor or potter.<\/p>\n

On the bank of the river, rain water and snow went out of their low crystallized accumulations. Drop by drop, there are formed streams of water that washed weaker rocks, leaving the hard ones. The results of this erosion are the high pyramids of 80 m and the tranches with a depth of 10 m, like small cones of small stones.<\/p>\n

The water eaten slope looks like a huge organ with rough tubes. The picture provided by the small pyramids is strengthened by a “piece of resistance” – a huge pyramid with columns.<\/p>\n

Due to the rarity of forms, the area of 12 ha is declared protected. This phenomenon was described firstly in 1957. Within the same county you can see pyramids at Stroiesti and Slatioara.<\/p>\n

The erosion process continues and here it may be added the human factor, which often destroy what nature creates, so that the territory and the greatness of pyramids shrink. Come and see these masterpieces of nature until they disappeared.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
