By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau\/ Moldova.ORG\/ — Leave your worries and difficulties in Chisinau and take the mountain road. At just 35 km from Piatra Neamt the Massif Ceahlau is waiting for you. There are not tall mountains, their highest top is about 1902 m, but they are impressive.<\/p>\n

Revered by ancient Dacians, Ceahlau has nowadays a day in the year when it is celebrated: August 6, called Mountain Day. The wooden hermitage, built in 90s, is a perfect place to retreat, away from crowds and stress, where you feel closer to the God (1600 m).<\/p>\n

At the foothill it can be seen a very beautiful phenomenon, called “alpine sea”. This phenomenon is observed in the morning, when morning clouds have not yet got over the mountain, forming a sea of clouds at the foothill. It’s an incredible and breathtaking sight. Images of this phenomenon you can see below.<\/p>\n

Ceahlau offers also a lot of satisfaction to people who like rivers. This mountain range has a waterfall called Duruitoarea. It can be seen on the trail, which descends from the chalet Drochia to the resort Durau. The sound ofwater, which falls from a height of 100m, can be heard far away, hence the name of the waterfall.<\/p>\n

On Ceahlau there are several accommodation possibilities, both at the foothill, in the resort Durau or in the Izvorul Muntelui (Mountain Spring) resort, and on the mountain, to the chalet Fantanele (Wells – 1220 m altitude) and Dochia hut (1750 m altitude).<\/p>\n

Not far from the chalet Durau is localized a camping for lovers of tents, there they can camp on the plateau of Piatra Lata (Wide Stone).<\/p>\n

On Cehlau you can climb only by step, because it doesn’t exist routes to the top there, no lift or elevator. So, equip yourself with confortable shoes, no sandals or city shoes.<\/p>\n

If you are an impassioned of mountains, you want splendid pictures, amazing natural phenomena, activity and really clean air, than you will like this route.
