Moldova and Serbia signed an agreement on the readmission of people with illegal stay, as well as a protocol on its implementation. The Moldovan and Serbian interior ministers, Alexei Roibu, and Ivica Dacic, respectively, signed the documents at the fifth meeting of the leaders of the interior bodies of the Police Cooperation Convention for South-Eastern Europe, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia.<\/p>\n

The agreement sees extension of the bilateral normative and juridical framework in the field of readmission of people with illegal stay, illegal migration’s counteraction, as well as creating a viable mechanism for exchanging information on Moldovan and Serbian illegal migrants.<\/p>\n

The participants in the meeting, chaired by Moldovan Interior Minister Alexei Roibu, assess the results achieved in terms of police cooperation over the last time and discussed subsequent actions to implement the Convention. At the meeting, the leaders of the interior bodies from ten states will sign a memorandum on establishing criteria for creating joint teams for investigating and combating the human traffic in the South-Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n

The participants in the event also discussed possibility to organize a meeting of the EU interior ministers from the Western Balkans’ region, in order to tackle subjects on regional cooperation in the interior affairs field in the long run.<\/p>\n
