Prime Minister Vlad Filat yesterday visited the sites for the construction of houses for the flood victims from the settlements Nemteni, Obileni and Cotul Morii of the Hincesti district, central Moldova, the government’s communications and press relations department has said.<\/p>\n

The prime minister was accompanied by Construction and Regional Development Minister Marcel Raducan and Interior Minister Victor Catan.<\/p>\n

Vlad Filat got acquainted with the construction works, quality of the construction materials, labour conditions and payment of wages to workers.<\/p>\n

As many as 115 houses will be built on the construction site from Nemteni, of which 80 will be constructed by Concordia Foundation.<\/p>\n

Vlad Filat said that the foundation of all the 115 houses had already been constructed and the walls had been already built for one house, the roof of which will be fixed soon. All the houses are built with construction materials given by Romania, as well as with local materials, such as sand and gravel. The houses will be tiled.<\/p>\n

The prime minister discussed labour conditions with workers and showed interest in whether they are contended with their salaries. In Nemteni, over 230 people are involved in the construction works, of whom about 170 are local residents. Each worker will receive about 6,000-7,000 lei.<\/p>\n

"We have fulfilled all the assumed commitments, we also hope that the constructors will observe the contract provisions, so that the flood victims are supplied with dwellings by the beginning of the cold season," the prime minister said.<\/p>\n

As concerns the construction site from Obileni, the prime minister was informed that 25 houses are to be built there, and the designing works are presently carried out.<\/p>\n

Vlad Filat asked for maximum of mobilization, so that the houses for flood victims in Obileni be made available for living at the same time with those from Nemteni. Some of the houses from Obileni will be constructed with the financial support of Georgia.<\/p>\n

The prime minister also visited the construction site near the Leuseni village, where 560 houses are built for the flood victims from Cotul Morii. The construction works are carried out by 11 economic agents. The foundation has been already laid for most houses, and the walls were built in some cases.<\/p>\n

The prime minister said that, if some problems appear, meetings with decision-makers should be held to identify solutions. "We will intervene if necessary, so that all eventual problems be settled," Vlad Filat said.<\/p>\n

Also today, Vlad Filat went to the storehouse from Leuseni, where the construction materials given by Romania are stocked. Presently, about 1,600 tons of cement, 460 tons of reinforced concrete, 5,600 cubic metres of stone cubes are stored there.<\/p>\n

The prime minister was informed that these construction materials are enough to build the houses for the flood victims. Also, Vlad Filat was given assurances that the storehouse is well-guarded, and the materials are distributed transparently.<\/p>\n

"We have been and will always be there for flood victims.
