The biggest problem of Moldovan teachers is migration of student parents abroad. This problem is being discussed by teachers and school principals of the Chisinau municipality at the annual educational conference on threshold of new school year.<\/p>\n

According to principal of the Stephen the Great lyceum Sergiu Acsinti, parents of a quarter students, and they are about 800 persons, went abroad; some parents left their children of gymnasium classes without any supervision.<\/p>\n

"Many problems exist in schools, but the biggest is – parents’ migration abroad, because these children are frequently exposed to street influence, and make later problems in school. Some of them shirk school, other come to lessons but do not make their homework, do not listen teachers", Acsinti said.<\/p>\n

According to him, many children whose parents went abroad become shy, diffident, are inactive in class or out-of-school activities, and the most bad is they refuse to share their problems, thus and so, they are supposed to many different risks.<\/p>\n

Math teacher Valeria Seremet said there are some children that do not understand that parents went abroad to create a better future for them, but they do their best to overcome the difficulties and study well.<\/p>\n

She said the Government should realize that it must raise teacher salaries, at least, at average economy level, because life expenses are in permanent increase.<\/p>\n

Education Minister Leonid Bujor said school hour amount was reduced to ensure more qualitative education. And for that, a teacher must have a 18-20 hour load per week, not more.<\/p>\n
