Foreign investors will receive the right to buy land plots in industrial parks with the condition to establish a stable production process. The Ministry of Economy develops corresponding regulations in connection to this decision. The announcement was made at the opening of the investment week Moldova Business Week 2010 by the Vice Minister of Economy, Sergiu Ciobanu.<\/p>\n

He thinks that this measure will generate the investors’ interest in the Moldova’s industry which had catastrophic losses in the last decades.<\/p>\n

"If in the ’90s, the industrial share in the GDP constituted 60%, now it equals only 13%", he said.<\/p>\n

Ciobanu called the foreign investors to get acquainted with the functioning of seven Moldovan Free Economic Zones (FEZ), where activate more than 250 economic agents and more than 3,000 people are employed. The total investments since the foundation of the largest FEZ Expo Business Chi\u015fin\u0103u (40%) equaled US$ 125 million.<\/p>\n

Head of the Public Property Agency Tudor Copaci presented the list of the enterprises subject to privatization, saying that the state-private partnership is a good example of enterprises’ revival. According to him, the success of this formula is evidenced by the Chisinau Airport, where the foreign investor received one hectare of land into concession using for 20 years and is building a parking lot of 800 cars.<\/p>\n

According to him, about 400 companies in Moldova need investments for production restart.<\/p>\n

"The press claims the Government hopes to receive 300 million lei from the privatization process, while we count on their revival, implementation of a modern management and new technologies", said Copaci.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Administrative Council of Foreign Investors’ Association Joachim Schreiber said they do not expect special privileges from Moldova’s government, but they want to be sure in the superiority of the law, infrastructure development, establishment of competitive frameworks that work in the EU, an adequate tax system, effective regulation of the labor force market and the improvement of the educational system.<\/p>\n

He added that they agree with the reforms the Government named today, but they have to be sure of their implementation.<\/p>\n

Vice President of the Moldo-Italian Chamber of Commerce Giovanni Bentini said the foreign investors have big expectations from Moldova in terms of the development of their investments.<\/p>\n

He congratulated the country’s government with the macroeconomic indicators achieved in the first quarter.<\/p>\n

He said the Moldova’s GDP rose by 4.7% while the Italian GDP has grown by only 0.5%, and this is one of them best indicators in Europe.
