Seeing that the rent treaty was not extended, the company should have solved the problem of premises beforehand, the Government presumes.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Government expressed regret that &ldquo;ordinary contract relations have unfoundedly received a political coloring&hellip; The Government does not infringe on the NIT&rsquo;s right to run its work activities, and will provide it with a reasonable timing to solve the problem. The Government is reaffirming its adherence to democratic values, including to the freedom of the press, and its commitment to ensuring all mass media with equal work conditions&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday, the Moldovan Government unexpectedly decided that the NIT television channel must vacate its premises by 1800 on December 31 at the latest.<\/p>\n<p>Company&rsquo;s Director General Sergei Ryazantsev stated to Infotag upon learning the astonishing news on the Christmas eve that the NIT had invested very heavily in the building&rsquo;s repair and maintenance and in technical equipment. He is regarding the insidious refusal to extend the rent as &ldquo;a ban on broadcasting&hellip; We are convinced that this repressive decision of the Government&rsquo;s has been a reaction to the channel&rsquo;s civil stance.
