The maternity center “PRO-femina” was opened in Hancesti town on November 20. On the same day, a community center for children and youth called “Perspectiva” was inaugurated in Lapusna village of the same district. <\/p>\n

”PRO-femina” will focus on the prevention of child abandonment and on the social integration of the mothers in difficulty. It will also contribute to the social and family integration of the mother and child and will offer a favorable environment for the harmonious development of the child near the family.

\nThe center will accommodate 10 mothers with children that are victims of domestic violence and will provide psychological counseling services to them. The women will be also trained as part of the programs “Parents’ School”, “Young Mother”, “Family Planning” and “A Healthy Lifestyle”. Another 20 persons will benefit from the day services offered by the center. <\/p>\n

The community center for children and youth “Perspectiva” will provide social assistance services to children and youth at risk. It will contribute to the creation of community partnerships aimed at preventing the institutionalization of children at risk. Among the center’s beneficiaries will be children without parental care, physically abused children, young unemployed persons and persons that are in conflict with the law. <\/p>\n

Another 27 social centers are planned to be opened in six districts of the country until this yearend. A number of 174 social centers work in Moldova at present. Among these are asylums, day centers, placement and mixed centers. About 100 of these are designed for children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
