The expenditure on pre-hospital emergency medical assistance and on primary medicine will be increased by 13 million lei each this year. The Government approved a relevant draft decision on Wednesday and will submit it to the Parliament for approval. <\/p>\n

Under the draft decision, the spending on specialized ambulatory medical assistance will be raised by 3.150 million lei, on hospital assistance – by 9 million lei, on professional assistance – by 4.150 million lei.

\nThe decision to increase the funds for medical assistance in 2008 was taken after the contributions collected into the obligatory health insurance fund exceeded the projected levels and more money became available. <\/p>\n

As a result, the Government proposed raising the revenues and expenditure sections of the obligatory health insurance fund by 1.7% or 45 million lei. 94% of this money will go into the basic fund and by 2% into the reserve fund, the prophylaxis measures fund and the administrative expenses fund. <\/p>\n
