The scholarships in Moldova will be increased by up to 30%, President Vladimir Voronin announced at a meeting with leaders of university student government associations. <\/p>\n

According to the presidential press service, the scholarships will be raised in three stages: by 15% – from October 1, this year, by 20% – from January 1, 2009 and by 30% – from September 1, 2009. \"\"<\/p>\n

The head of state stressed the necessity of identifying possibilities of providing 90% of the students coming from other settlements with places in dormitories. Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon was named as head of the working group that will focus on this objective. Works to repair and reequip the canteens in universities will be carried out until September 1, 2009. <\/p>\n
