The punishment for 7 prisoners was replaced by a milder one. <img decoding=\"async\" hspace=\"5\" src=\"http:\/\/reporter.md\/images\/news\/medium_prison.jpg\" width=\"220\" align=\"right\" vspace=\"5\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On July 10, the Parliament adopted the law on amnesty on Vladimir Voronin&rsquo;s proposal. Such a measure is part of the activities planned for 2008, which was declared the Year of Youth. Under the law, about 168 persons that committed minor offences will be amnestied, while the non-served sentences of 518 persons that committed serious and extremely serious offences will be halved. <\/p>\n<p>As many as 686 prisoners younger than 21 were held in penitentiaries in Moldova on April 1, 2008.
