At Thursday’s meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca proposed discussing the implementation of a court decision made by the Rascani District Court and the conclusion of the Rascani Enforcement Office of the Ministry of Justice, REPORTER.MD informs. <\/p>\n

The decision obliges the municipal councilor Valery Klimenko to rebut at a CMC meeting the assertions that the court described as calumnious because they damage the reputation of the citizen of honor of Chisinau, Andrei Ivantoc. <\/p>\n

The court also ordered that Klimenko publicly apologize to the political detainee and that his words be broadcast on the television channel TV7. \"\"<\/p>\n

At an earlier meeting of the CMC, Valery Klimenko made calumnious statements about the former members of the Ilascu group while the Council was considering conferring the title of citizens of honor of Chisinau on the former political prisoners Ilie Ilascu, Andrei Ivantoc, Alexandru Lesco and Tudor Petrov Popa. <\/p>\n

After the given meeting, Andrei Ivantoc sued Valery Klimenko, demanding that he refute the statements and pay non-pecuniary damages.
