The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) last month examined 845 matters and made 675 decisions, as against 486 decisions approved by the Council during January-June this year. <\/p>\n

CMC chairman Eduard Musuc told a news conference that the Council under his chairmanship made more decisions than in the first half of this year, when the Council was headed by Mihai Ghimpu. <\/p>\n

Asked by REPORTER.MD, Musuc said that they achieved better results because they proposed successful projects for consideration. He also said that all the decisions were adopted in compliance with the legislation and they serve the interests of the people. <\/p>\n

For his part, councilor Mihai Ghimpu has told REPORTER.MD that the “successful” projects have been drafted by him and used later by Musuc. “Before June 20, it was Musuc’s faction, PSD, that permanently voted against all the important decisions such as the allocation of land, leasing out, housing repair and others,” Ghimpu said. <\/p>\n

AMN councilor Oleg Cernei said that no one can speak in the name of the Council if the councilors made no such decision by common consent. He also said that it is not fair to make a discriminatory description and speak about the CMC work before and after the election of Musuc. <\/p>\n

Mihai Ghimpu was dismissed from the post of CMC chairman by the vote of 27 councilors on June 6. The Social Democratic councilor Eduard Musuc was named instead of him.
