The situation in Vadul lui Voda has normalized as the flood waters are withdrawing. The level of water in the Dniester fell from 19.5 meters to 17.9 meters. Specialists say the water will reach the normal level in 24-40 hours. <\/p>\n

At Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said that even if the flood waters are receding, the economic activities in the recreational area will not be resumed soon. He also said that when the situation returns to normal, specialists will estimate the damage caused by floods, will sanitize the territory and will take all the measures possible to avoid epidemics. <\/p>\n

The economic entities will start work after the relevant commissions give their consent. <\/p>\n

Chief sanitary doctor of Chisinau Iurie Panzaru said that a case of acute diarrhea was reported in Vadul lui Voda town. This can indicate an infectious disease caused by floods. <\/p>\n
