The level of water in the Prut and Dniester rivers continues to increase and the danger of floods persists. <\/p>\n

According to the information provided by the National Army, the situation is tense in Copanca village in Causeni district. The village is located on the lower course of the Dniester and the water level rises after the volumes of water removed from the dam of Dubasari Hydroelectric Plant have been increased. <\/p>\n

As a result, one of the main protection dikes of the village could be destroyed by the Dniester waters in the afternoon, when the situation is expected to be critical. A group of 34 military men of the National Army will strengthen the dike with sacks with sand and, if need be, will evacuate the residents. The National Army is also ready to provide a MI-8 helicopter that is now on the Chisinau International Airport. <\/p>\n

Twenty-two military men and a motor vehicle of the Battalion No.3 of the Peacekeeping Forces deployed in Cosnita village strengthened the dike in Pogrebea village. The Battalion No.1 of the Peacekeeping Forces worked in Ustia and Zolonceni village until midnight.
