The Government will provide assistance in repairing the houses damaged by floods, Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanyi announced at Wednesday’s meeting of the Government. <\/p>\n

The Premier ordered the creation of a special commission that will assess the damage caused by the floods within five days and will propose solutions to the identified problems. Greceanyi assured that the Government will be making every effort so that no affected family remains without shelter by winter. <\/p>\n

The Prime Minister said that Moldova does not have enough resources to liquidate the consequences of the devastating inundations following the flooding of the Dniester and Prut rivers. The Government sought help from its development partners from abroad and opened a special account to collect funds. <\/p>\n

According to the latest reports, the July 28-30 inundations destroyed 442 houses and 75 health resorts. About 4,000 people were evacuated from the villages located in the water meadows of the Dniester and Prut. <\/p>\n
