Owing to the permanent rise in the water level in the reservoir Costesti-Stinca situated on the Prut River in Rascani district, a number of settlements in Ungheni, Nisporeni, Leova, Hincesti and Cantemir districts run the risk of being flooded, the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service informs. <\/p>\n

As many as 346 houses have been flooded in about 30 villages in Briceni, Edinet, Rascani, Glodeni and Falesti districts. Sixty-four houses out of these have been destroyed. <\/p>\n

According to the latest reports, more than 3,680 people have been evacuated. <\/p>\n

The situation in the settlements located near the Dniester is not so alarming. <\/p>\n

A number of 219 houses and villas, 86 hectares of corn fields and about 630 private gardens have been inundated in 15 settlements in Soroca, Floresti, Soldanesti, Rezina, Criuleni, Anenii Noi and Stefan-Voda districts. About 500 people have been evacuated. <\/p>\n

Forty-seven persons have been evacuated from the recreational areas in Vadul-lui-Voda town. Three motor boats, five boats with sails and an armored car BRT transport the people. As the gas station in the town could be flooded, the health resorts “Bucuria” and “Dacia” have been disconnected from the gas supply system. <\/p>\n
