More than 40% of the subjects and news items broadcast by the National Public Broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova are biased. Half of these have a laudatory character. The senior officials (Vladimir Voronin, Zinaida Greceanyi and Marian Lupu) enjoyed more screen time, while the opinions of the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary Opposition were absent. <\/p>\n

This is one of the conclusions of the sixth report on how the Broadcasting Code had been implemented between June 30 and July 6. It was compiled by ten media and human rights NGOs under the aegis of the Electronic Press Association (APEL). <\/p>\n

According to the report, Teleradio-Ggauzia also deviates from the professional deontological norms. Though the broadcast materials are not as biased as at Teleradio-Moldova, the jurist of the Independent Press Association Eugeniu Rybca considers that the monitored news and topics are based on one source and there is no pluralism of opinion. <\/p>\n

During the presentation of the report on July 24, Rybca said that the number of partial news stories at Teleradio-Gagauzia has increased. The regional public radio has no news bulletins in the Romanian language. <\/p>\n
