The Ministry of Health is launching the first yearly national survey to see how satisfied with the medical services the patients are. About 22,000 questionnaires will be distributed to 96 public medical-sanitary institutions in order to identify the strong points of the institutions and the areas where improvements are needed. <\/p>\n

The survey aims at reducing corruption in the health system and at increasing the responsibility of the medical service providers. <\/p>\n

The questionnaires will include questions about the waiting period in health institutions, confidentiality and rights of the patients, unofficial payments, transparency and amiability of the medical workers, quality of the medical services, conditions in hospitals etc. <\/p>\n

”The questionnaires will be distributed at the reception desk to patients that are being discharged from hospital and to those that came to consult with the doctor. This way, the patients will not be afraid to give answers,” the head of the Health Ministry’s Health Insurance Division Valeriu Sava told a news conference on July 17. <\/p>\n

The survey will be launched on July 21 and will last for six months.
