expression is one of the basic principles of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and this freedom should be guaranteed in every state, including by providing conditions for an independent press. <\/p>\n<p>&rdquo;Unfortunately, the anti-press acts committed by the Government of Moldova between 2001 and 2008 became obvious as a result of the reports and monitoring carried out by national journalists&rsquo; organizations and international organizations,&rdquo; the MEP said. <\/p>\n<p>Mihaela Popa also said that among the acts invoked by the journalists are the government&rsquo;s attempts to politically subjugate the public media and apply censorship, to sue the journalists that disseminate opinions that run counter to the state policy, to promote disloyal competition in the
