A number of 250 persons with locomotory disabilities from Moldova’s districts will receive free wheelchairs from an U.S. philanthropic organization through the National Experimental Center of Orthopedics, Prosthesis and Rehabilitation (CREPOR). <\/p>\n

The first that came into possession of the wheelchairs were 27 residents of Hancesti district. <\/p>\n

According to the CREPOR senior manager Vasile Ouatu, 7,365 people have applied to the Center, asking for wheelchairs. As many as 8,452 people have already received such chairs. A number of 848 wheelchairs have been distributed this year. Ouatu said that about 1 million lei are allocated from the state budget each year for the purpose. <\/p>\n

CREPOR provides diagnoses and treatment services for persons with locomotory disabilities, supplies the people with orthopedic prosthesis and provides medical rehabilitation services for war veterans.
