Annually over 11 thousand people are made answerable administratively for driving in drunken state and over 9000 people at the moment of control had no driving license. These data are included in the report regarding the administrative infringements in 2007, made public by the Direction of Synthesis, Dissemination and Informing the Population and Public Relations of the National Bureau of Statistics. <\/p>\n

Most frequent administrative infringements refer to transport, road household and telecommunications, according to the quoted source. Their weight in the structure of the administrative infringements is still high – 55.5%. In 2002, it was 65%. <\/p>\n

The administrative infringements in this field were applied in 2007, in the case of 244 thousand people, or by 7.8% more against 2006. Most often, the administrative punishment is applied for not following the road circulation regulations – 36% and the rules of transport exploitation – 29%. <\/p>\n

In 2007, they applied punishments in 71.8 thousand cases when drivers did not follow the rules of transport exploitation; 33.8 thousand cases of speeding; 87.9 thousand cases of not following the road indicators. They also registered12.9 thousand cases of drunken drivers, 27.1 thousand cases of violating the rules of using the safety belt, as well as of the helmets by the motorcyclists, and 10.4 thousand cases of driving with no driver’s license. <\/p>\n

In 2007, they registered 744.2 thousand law infringements. Of their total number, 17.9 thousand or two per cent were sent to the authorities of preventive examination, which is penal. Most of the infringements were registered in Chişinău and Bălţi, UTA Găgăuzia and raions Cahul, Orhei, Soroca, Floreşti, Ungheni, Anenii Noi, Hânceşti and Străşeni.
