During the Easter holidays the number of policemen, which will be on guard of the public order, will increase from 2.5 thousand to 6 thousand in the country and from 1.5 thousand to 2.5 thousand in the capital city. <\/p>\n

Chief of the public order department of the Ministry of Interior Mihai Cibotaru said at a news conference on Thursday that the increased number of policemen must not irritate citizens, as the police’s objective is to provide the conduct of all the religious ceremonies, to facilitate the transport traffic in the streets and to prevent house thefts. <\/p>\n

He also remarked that the police chivalry will be concentrated in the entertainment and water reservoir zones. Cibotaru called upon citizens to be extremely careful on roads, in recreation zones and to keep places clean. <\/p>\n

In Cibotaru’s words, the sacred flame will be delivered from Jerusalem along the highway from the Chisinau airport to the Cathedral on the Holy Saturday, that is why, the traffic will blocked for 10-12 minutes for this reason. <\/p>\n

The police will carry on regular raids of food markets, places of the public sale of foodstuffs and supermarkets in order to prevent the sale of products with expired term. <\/p>\n

According to the police, in the last year, the most considerable number of accidents fell on the Easter holidays. In this context Cibotaru asked all the participants in the road traffic to be maximally vigilant and to abstain from trips along the Strefan cel Mare boulevard. <\/p>\n

For delivering those, wishing to visit temples, public transport will work until midnight and microbuses until 01.00 and taxi will work in the non-stop regime.
