A woman from Balti managed to collect eggs from many countries. At this moment the collection comprises around 150 eggs and can be seen at the local picture gallery during Easter, DECA-press Agency transmits. <\/p>\n

Eugenia Moldovanu’s collection began with one plastic egg given as a gift by a Lutheran from Germany who was visiting Iasi. <\/p>\n

„When I was in Bosnia Herzegovina I bought two interesting metal eggs. Later one my relatives brought me eggs from Greece and Italy. Now I don’t even remember how I got some eggs in my collection,” Eugenia Moldovanu says. <\/p>\n

Some of those 150 eggs are made by handicraftsmen from Moldova, while other souvenirs were bought from Romania, Germany, Poland, China, Russia and Ukraine. The eggs are made of various material starting with plastic and wood and ending up with paper and stone. <\/p>\n

Being a handicraftsman herself, Eugenia Moldovanu started to make eggs of straw and to decorate wooden eggs with beads. Sometimes her works are worth 75 lei each.
\nThe fifty-year-old woman worked as educator at a kindergarten until the 90s. Then she became a tradeswoman and learned the craft of making things of straw. Now she has students to whom she teaches this craft. The Union of the Handicraftsmen from Moldova had bestowed on her the title “The best handicraftsman of the year 2007”.
