On Thursday, April 10th, 2008, deputies revoted the law project by means of which citizens of Moldova who work on high posts are prohibited to have double citizenship, DECA-press transmits. <\/p>\n

The law was adopted in final reading at the end of 2007, but it didn’t come in effect because president Vladimir Voronin refused to promulgate it. <\/p>\n

During the sitting of the Parliament from Thursday, Vladimir Turcan, chairman of the juridical commission for appointment and immunities said that the law had been expertized by European experts. <\/p>\n

„According to the operated changes, the employees of the Government, Parliament, President of the country, as well as persons who have access to state secrets will not have the right to own double citizenship\u0403h, Turcan mentioned. <\/p>\n
