The General Assembly of the Independent Press Association (IPA) elected on Friday Slava Perunov, the director of the newspaper „SP” from Balti, as president of the association, DECA-press Agency informs. <\/p>\n

Perunov will work in this function in the next two years with the possibilly to be reelected for a term of two years more since the expiration of his first mandate, according to IPA’s status. <\/p>\n

The function of vice-president of IPA will belong the next two years to Tudor Iascenco, director of the newspaper „Cuvantul” from Rezina, and Petru Macovei will continue being the executive director of IPA. <\/p>\n

During the General Assembly of IPA, the results of the last year activity of this institution have been announced. <\/p>\n

At present, the Independent Press Association consists of 21 members. <\/p>\n

The Independent Press Association was founded on September 29th 1997. It is one of the most important media organizations from the Republic of Moldova, which covers the independent press. IPA is a member of the World Association of Newspapers. <\/p>\n
