In Moldova 589.6 thousand men and 123.2 thousand women have driving licenses. <\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Information Development, as of March 1 the major part of women drivers – 111.5 thousand have exclusively “B” category driving licenses, which allow them only to drive a car. <\/p>\n

There are almost 10 thousand women, who drive motor cycles and 122 – trolleybuses. <\/p>\n

Only 162 men possess the complete set of all the driving categories, which are seven; women possess maximum five categories at most. <\/p>\n

There are 563.29 thousand vehicles registered in the republic – by 30 thousand more than at the beginning of 2007 that is 136 thousand less than two years ago. <\/p>\n

The majority of vehicles (35.4%) are registered in Chisinau, the smallest number of transport means are in Soldanesti (3.2 thousand) and Basarabca (4.7 thousand). <\/p>\n

The are 124 economic entities, which train drivers. <\/p>\n

According to Valeriu Buruiana of the Ministry of Transport and Roads, conditions of driving tests become more and more strict and the number of exams is being constantly increased, the share of those, passing exams at the first attempt does not exceed 54% and, in final end, not more than 33% of candidates pass exams successfully. <\/p>\n
