The Calarasi District Council will pay nearly 50 thousand lei to Ion Lipcan, a former political prisoner, rehabilitated afterwards, as indemnity for his parents’ estate, which was confiscated by the communist Soviet authorities in 1949, DECA-press Agency transmits.
\nThe Council will pay this sum of money on the basis of “An Agreement of Amiable Regulation”, concluded in December 2007, after the law court from Calarasi had examined a case in this context. The case serves as a good reason for hundreds of former prisoners from this district to be paid indemnity for the estate confiscated in tat period
\nThe jurist of the Calarasi District Council, Ala Boian, says that the institution she represents has already sent all the necessary demands to the Ministry of Finances, which will allocate from the State Budet the necessary funds for paying this citizen the indemnity.
\nAt present, the Calarasi District Council has received 166 such demands from the part of former prisoners from this district.
