The policemen from Balti used guns to arrest two men suspected of human traffic. The criminals were caught only after the police officers fired the guns, DECA-press Agency transmits.
\nThe policemen had to fire two shots in the air in spite of the fact that the zone was full of people.
\nThe two men, aged 28 and, respectively, 27, come from the town Rabnita, a locality from the left side of the Danube. One of them had been jailed for theft. The criminals caught the attention of the police after they had tried to recruit two young women from Balti who were supposed to be taken to Odessa and then trafficked to Turkey.
\nAs the deputy commissar from Balti, Valeriu Starii, declared the policemen intercepted the fleshmongers’ „negotiations” with their victims and they tried to catch them in the act.
\nAccording to the same source, the criminals tried to run away. They were driving their car at high speed while being followed by the police. On their way they hit two cars, one of which is the property of the police department. The white slavers were caught only after the policemen fired two shots, Valeriu Starii explained.
\nThe police do not exclude the possibility of those two being involved in other cases of human traffic.
