Andrei Vdovicenco, inhabitant of Bender Town, one of the authors of the famous theft of religious objects from the Monastery of Harbovat, district of Calarasi, committed in autumn 2006, has been recently arrested abd judged by the Prosecution of Calarasi, DECA-press Agency transmits.
\nIn autumn 2006, religious objects of nearly one million lei were stolen from the Monastery of Harbovat.
\nProsecutor Mihail Croitoru, who has signed the order of accusation, affirms that Vdovicenco, together with other two accomplices – Serghei Mescoi and Stas Stoleicov – planned every detail of the theft. The three offenders went by two cars from Bender to Harbovat, where Mescoi and Stoleicov entered the church „Wholy Trinity” where from they stole golden and silver religious objects and put them in the cars.
\nThen, the thieves went on the route Harbovat-Tibirica-Cricova-Bender, making sure via mobile phones that everything was under control. In case of necessity, Vdovicenco would have been informed about some possible police officers on the road.
\nIn the end, the three thieves managed to take the stolen objects out from Moldova and bring them to Ukraine.
