The unpleasant smell is an unsolved problem for six localities from the district of Sangerei. While people complain about the smells spread from the filtration fields of the Sugar Production Factory from Alexandreni is impossible to be tolerated. The administration of the factory accuses another enterprise where from it takes the money for the rent of filtration equipment, DECA-press transmits.
\nThe filtration fields is situated nearly two kilometres from Alexandreni, and the unpleasant smell affects the village of Taplitesti, Heiciul Vechi, Putinesti, Alexandreni, Grigoresti and the town of Biruinta, depending on the direction of the wind. The filtration field of the Sugar production factory are stretched on 99 hectares of land which belong to the Mayoralty of Alexandreni village.
\nThe deputy-mayor of the village of Alexandreni, Alistar Dambrovschi, said for DECA-press that, since the sugar-production factory doesn’t take any measures of neutralizing the unpleasant smell, the Mayoralty of Alexandreni village will not conclude a renting contract of these 99 hectares in 2008. If this is not a solution, we will have to ask for the help of the central authorities to solve this problem, Alistar Dambrovschi also specified.
\nThe administration of the Sugar Factory, which belongs to the company „Sudzucker Moldova”, confessed that the smells cause dissatisfactions of the population of the six villages, which are not guilty of this problem, because last year, the factory didn’t work and the networks of filtration fields were given for rent to „Multival” Ltd.
\nAccording to the technical director of „Multival” Ltd, Iurie Harcelnicov, the smell is caused by the odds and ends of old garbage of the Sugar factory and of the residual water of Biruinta town, directed this autumn to these filtration fields.
