Only half of the Moldovans from the country take the garbage to the trash pplace of the locality. This is one of the conclusions of a survey regarding the management of solid garbage in rural localities, DECA-press transmits.
\nWhile 51 percent of the respondents declared they take the garbage to specially-arranged placed, over 23% of the respondents confessed they are used to pollute the air, by burning the garbage. Since there is no alternative, 18,2 percent of the inhabitants of the villages gather the garbage in their courtyards, while 5,9% change the steeps into non-authorized trash places, by throwing the garbage there.
\nThe same poll showed that only a quarter of the villagers take their garbage out daily or weekly. The rest prefer to do it once a month (35,9%) or even only on holidays (38,5%).
