Moldovan non-governmental organizations will conduct the monitoring of actions on combating corruption in the judiciary system, customs service, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health Protection and the Center for Combating Economic Crime and Corruption from January 2008 to February 2009. <\/p>\n

Secretary of the anti-corruption Alliance Mircea Esanu said at a press conference in Infotag on Wednesday that in the first place the Agency on Supporting Juridical Education, The Resource Center for Human Rights, the Pro Marshall, the Transparency International Moldova, the Center for the Corruption Analysis and Prevention, which enter this Alliance, will trace the corruption situation. <\/p>\n

“We shall use the single monitoring methodology, which is based on Bulgaria’s experience and it is brought in line with Moldova’s realities. This methodology is based on the public opinion poll, interview, study of documents and mass media. Monitoring reports will be presented each quarter”, Esanu remarked. <\/p>\n

In his words, the objective of this monitoring is the objective assessment of the transparency and public institutions’ ability to prevent corruption and to combat it. <\/p>\n

Representative of the Academy for Academic Development, which finances this program, Susan Van Pelt called upon the Moldovan authorities to present necessary materials to the representatives of the public. <\/p>\n

“It is possible to reduce and to combat corruption only by means of fruitful cooperation between state institutions and the civil society”, she said. <\/p>\n
