The population of Moldova is likely to reduce by 25-35 per cent by 2050 and Moldova is completing the number of countries undergoing demographic crises, according to a report made public by the UNO Commission on Population. <\/p>\n

Ukraine, Russia, Romania and Byelorussia have the same risk, according to the survey. At the same time, the number of the Bulgarian population is to reduce by over 35 per cent. <\/p>\n

By 2050, the number of the population of Germany, Italy and of most of the countries from the Central and Eastern Europe is to significantly reduce, the document says. Thus, there will be 74 million people in Germany against those 82 million that are now. The population of Italy is to decrease from 59 to 54 million people. <\/p>\n

In the last years, there is a decrease of the demographic phenomenon in Moldova, which follows the decreasing birth rate and the increasing death rate and migration, Expert in Demographic Problems Constantin Matei, Geography and Environment Chairman within Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova has said, contacted by BASA-press. “In order to recover from the situation, we need first to take economic actions to make the salary steadily grow. This fact will lead to the decreasing number of migrating population and increasing birth rate”, the expert said. <\/p>\n
