Two new newspapers – «Ora de Varf» and «Epicentru», launched today, were elaborated by the students of the Advanced School of Journalism from Chisinau and cover subjects from political, social, cultural and economical life of Chisinau town, DECA-press transmits.
\nThe executive director of the Independent Press Association, Petru Macovei, who helped students at the edition of the newspapers, has highly appreciated the quality of products and said that they are good if to take into account the fact they had been made by young people who are just beginning to identify themselves with professional journalists.
\nThe students said that the elaboration of the newspapers was a unique experience for them, because they have worked like in an editorial office. Despite the fact they had very little time, they managed to make different kinds of journalistic materials, which they have learned in the first semester of studies.
\nThe newspapers have an amount of 500 copies each and will be distributed to media structures from the republic, donor institutions and within the events of presentation of the Advanced School of Journalism.
\nThe school was launched on September 4th aiming at preparing universal journalists for mass media from Republic of Moldova. It is a project initiated by the Independence Journalism Centre from Moldova in common with the School of Journalism of the University from Missouri (USA) and the Paris-based Journalism School and Training Center (France).
\nThe School has been also supported by the International Journalism Center in Washington, DC, Knight International Press Fellowship Program, OSCE, British Embassy in Chisinau, French Embassy in Bucharest, French Embassy in Chisinau, etc. The Project is financially supported by the MATRA Program of the Dutch Ministry of Exterior implemented through Press Now and National Endowment for Democracy (NED), USA.
