Moldovan medical experts register a 3% annual growth of the Diabetes mellitus incidence among teenagers and this growth reaches 5% among pre-school children. Such are the data, provided by the Ministry of Health Protection. <\/p>\n

On Wednesday the world marks the World Day of Combating Diabetes. This year it is conducted under the motto ‘No Child Must Die from Diabetes". <\/p>\n

Doctors are concerned with the fact that more and more often cases of the II type of insulin-dependent diabetes are revealed among teenagers. <\/p>\n

In 2006 in Moldova 6\u0412 828 new cases of this disease were registered, including 56 among children. All in all, by the beginning of 2007 there were 45\u0412 845 Diabetes mellitus diseased, 393 of them – children. <\/p>\n

All the republic’s children, suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, are provided with insulin free of charge and they pass regularly a respective free treatment course at the endocrinology section of the Emilian Coţaga children’s hospital. <\/p>\n

A number of actions on informing the population of Diabetes Mellitus, its prophylaxis and treatment are implemented in the frame of the MoldDiab National Program on the Diabetes Mellitus Prophylaxis for 2006-2010. A particular stress is made on the balanced nutrition and reducing the consumption of sweet and fat food and alcohol. <\/p>\n

In 2008 it is planned to set up the National Diabetes Center in the frame of the MoldDiab National Program. The Kuwait Fund for Arab economic development will allocate financial resources for this center. \/\/ Infotag<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
